Audio Video Settings

Audio Video Settings let you pick exactly which microphone, speaker, and camera Thirdlane Connect uses. Getting these right is the single most effective way to avoid the common “I can’t hear you” problems on calls and in meetings - for example, sending call audio to a headset while notifications play through your laptop speakers. The layout groups audio and video clearly on web and desktop (16.1.1+).

Device Permissions (16.1.1+, web and desktop) summarizes microphone and camera permission state and provides shortcuts to grant access if the browser or OS blocked them.

Call audio input source. Set audio input device for calls and meetings.

Call audio output destination. Set audio output device for calls. Call-related sounds like DTMF tones, busy and hangup signals will be also played through the specified device.

Notifications audio output destination. Set audio output device for audio notifications about incoming messages, incoming calls, etc. This option is useful if you make calls via a headset and want to have other notifications played in a different device.

Video source. Select a camera that will be used for meetings.

To test the selected audio and video settings, click on “Test configuration”.

Tips

  • Use Notifications audio output destination to keep call audio in your headset while ringtones and message alerts play on your speakers - so you still hear an incoming call when your headset is off.
  • Run Test configuration after plugging in a new headset or webcam, and before an important meeting, to confirm the right devices are selected.
  • If a device is missing or greyed out, check Device Permissions (16.1.1+) and grant microphone/camera access in your browser or operating system.
