Special Endpoints
Special Endpoints are SIP devices that register with your PBX but are not tied to a person or a User Extension - so they have no voicemail, no user portal login, and no per-user call handling. Use them for shared or unattended equipment such as door phones, overhead paging adapters, lobby and conference-room phones, softswitches, or connections to another PBX, where you want a registered SIP account without provisioning a full user.
One of the powerful features of Thirdlane is WebCall Widgets, which let website visitors make browser-based calls to your PBX. Special Endpoint for WebCall Widget is a dedicated type of Special Endpoint that a WebCall Widget uses as its registered device; each widget needs its own.
