Call Blocking
Call Blocking lets you stop unwanted calls from reaching you - a practical defense against repeat spam callers, robocalls, or a specific number you no longer want to hear from. You define who is blocked (and how blocked calls are handled) once, then turn blocking on or off whenever you like without re-entering your rules.
You can specify call blocking options for calls with or without a caller id.
For calls with caller id the options are “Block” or “Allow”.
If you are blocking calls, you can enter caller ids of callers to be excluded from blocking.
If are not blocking all the calls you can enter caller ids of callers that you would like to block.
For calls without caller id the options are simply “Block” or “Allow”.
You can specify how the blocked calls are to be handled by choosing from the list of “When blocking calls” options.
Note that you can enter the information once and then “Enable” or “Disable” Call Blocking as needed.
Best practices
- Block calls without caller ID with care. Many legitimate calls (some businesses, hospitals, or international callers) arrive without a caller ID; blocking them entirely can cut off calls you want.
- Prefer a blocklist over blocking everything. Blocking specific numbers keeps you reachable while stopping the callers you actually want gone.
- Choose a sensible “when blocking” action. Sending blocked callers to a message or voicemail can be gentler (and safer) than a hard hang-up if you occasionally block the wrong number.
- Consider Call Screening instead when you want to vet unknown callers rather than reject them outright.
