Personal Preferences

The Personal Preferences section lets you tailor how the User Portal works for you - language, time zone, page size, chart colors, and your web password. These settings affect only your own account. The most impactful is Time Zone: it makes your call history and other timestamped data display in your local time rather than the server’s, so times line up with when things actually happened for you.

Number of rows to display per page. Number of rows displayed on pages presenting lists of data.

GUI Language. User interface language.

Time Zone. Changes the time zone for your account. The User Portal adjusts any stored data that has a time component (kept in server time) so it displays in the time zone you select. Thirdlane Connect follows the same setting, and so does the time your voicemail speaks when it announces a message. Leave it blank to use your organization’s time zone.

Voicemail time format. The clock voicemail uses when it speaks the time a message arrived. Automatic follows the convention of the country your time zone belongs to - a 12-hour clock in the United States, Canada, Australia and India, a 24-hour clock elsewhere - and is right for nearly everyone. Choose 12 hour or 24 hour to override it. Your notification email uses the same time zone but always writes a 12-hour clock.

Password. Allows you to change the web password for your account.

Theme for Charts. Allows you to change the color theme for charts.

Best practices

  • Set your time zone first. It affects how every timestamped screen (like Recent Calls) reads, so getting it right avoids confusion when comparing times.
  • Choose a strong, unique password here and update it if you suspect it has been shared or exposed.
