Default Music-on-Hold

Music-on-Hold (MoH) is the audio - music or announcements - that callers hear when they are placed on hold, parked, waiting in a Queue, or during a transfer. This screen manages the system-wide default MoH class: the playlist used whenever a more specific class has not been set.

MoH can be defined at several levels. A more specific setting overrides the default - you can set MoH system-wide (here), per Tenant, per Queue, per User Extension, and elsewhere. If none of those specify a class, this default is used.

Settings

Name. Fixed as default for this class and cannot be changed. (Additional named classes are configured on the objects that use them.)

Mode. How the audio source is provided. Valid modes are files, mp3, quietmp3, mp3nb, quietmp3nb, and custom. Use files whenever possible - it plays pre-loaded audio files directly and is the most reliable and CPU-friendly option. The mp3* modes stream via an external mp3 player, and custom runs a command you supply.

Format. The codec used when playing this playlist. Match it to the format of your uploaded files/audio to avoid unnecessary transcoding.

Application. The command that produces the audio stream. Only available (and required) when Mode is custom.

Random. When enabled, files in the playlist are played in random order rather than sequentially.

Options. Additional low-level options for this playlist.

Uploading audio

The bottom of the screen lets you upload audio files into this playlist. For files mode, upload the prompts/music you want callers to hear; they play in order (or randomly, if Random is enabled).
