Branding

Branding lets you replace Thirdlane’s default look in the Configuration Manager with your own - your logo, your brand colors, and your footer text - so the platform presents your company (or your service) to administrators and, for resellers, to their tenants. Settings here apply system-wide and act as the default for every tenant, while individual tenants can override them in Tenant Branding.

Upload a system logo (recommended height 24px) to replace the default logo on the Login Screen and in the Configuration Manager toolbar. This logo is displayed for all tenants unless a tenant has uploaded their own logo in Tenant Branding.

Use Remove to delete the uploaded logo and revert to the default text wordmark.

Logo links to URL. Specify a URL to open when the user clicks on the logo.

Favicon

Upload a square PNG - 32x32 or 64x64 works well - to replace the Thirdlane icon shown in the browser tab across the Configuration Manager. Use Remove to revert to the default, and Save to apply.

This is the icon for the Manager itself. Thirdlane Connect has its own favicon setting in Connect Branding, and an individual organization can override the Manager icon in Tenant Branding.

Because browsers cache favicons aggressively, a change often will not appear until the tab is reloaded with cache bypassed or reopened. That is a browser behaviour rather than a failed upload.

Brand Colors

Primary Color. Sets the color for the toolbar, window headers, and dialog headers across all Configuration Manager screens. Leave empty to use the default color.

Secondary Color. Sets the color for action buttons (Save, Approve, Finish, Next). Falls back to Primary Color if not set. Leave empty to use the default color.

Use the color swatch to pick a color visually, type a hex value directly, or click the clear button to reset to the default.

Tenant-level colors configured in Tenant Branding override these global colors for that tenant.

Show licensing and copyright in footer. Controls whether licensing and copyright text is displayed in the Configuration Manager page footer.

Customizing Configuration Manager GUI text

In addition to the settings above, you can customize any text used in the Configuration Manager GUI. Place a file containing key/value pairs in override.xx (where xx is the language, e.g. en) in /etc/webmin/asterisk. Find all available keys in /usr/libexec/webmin/asterisk/lang/en.

For example, to change the application name:

index_title=UC Manager

Customizing home pages

You can fully customize the home pages for administrators and end users by placing admin_portal.xx or user_portal.xx files in /etc/webmin/asterisk on your management server.

After making these changes, restart the web service for them to take effect.

Best practices

  • Keep the logo compact. A logo around the recommended 24px height sits cleanly in the toolbar and login screen without being scaled awkwardly.
  • Set the Primary Color first. The Secondary Color falls back to it, so a single well-chosen primary often gives a consistent result with the least effort.
  • Test both login and in-app views after changing the logo or colors, since the logo appears in more than one place.
  • Let tenants self-brand where appropriate - global branding is the default, and Tenant Branding overrides it per tenant.
